2019 Honda Pilot Review

The 2019 Honda Pilot has arrived in Massillon, Ohio. It’s Honda’s third-row SUV with room for up to 8 people. The Pilot now comes standard with Honda Sensing, the innovative advanced safety technology. Add in new style, groundbreaking technology, improved audio capabilities, power and performance, and we think the 2019 Honda Pilot will be the perfect vehicle for your driveway.

Honda Sensing Standard

Every 2019 Honda Pilot now comes standard with Honda Sensing. This advanced suite of safety and driver assist technology makes driving safer than ever. Honda Sensing includes the following features:

- Collision Mitigation Braking System and Forward Collision Warning: Helps to bring you vehicle to a stop when the system determines a crash is unavoidable

- Road Departure Mitigation and Lane Departure Warning: These systems provide steering assist and help you return to your lane or provide braking to help keep from leaving the roadway entirely

- Lane Keep Assist: With your hands on the steering wheel, Lane Keep Assist System subtly adjusts steering to help keep the Pilot centered in your lane.

- Adaptive Cruise Control: Set your speed, and advanced cruise control helps you maintain a safe distance of the vehicles around you.

Every Honda Pilot also comes standard with a backup camera for every more safety.

New Style

The Pilot gets an aggressive facelift to stand out from the competition. You’ll notice an aggressive new front fascia with standard LED low-beam headlights up front. Out back, you’ll love the new taillights, new bumper and stylish chrome accents.

Inside you’ll find new trim around the vents, new seat design and upgrades extra style everywhere.

The second row captain’s chair option is now available on both Touring and Elite models.

Improved transmission

The Touring and Elite edition Pilots now feature a 9-speed automatic transmission. This transmission  type allows for smoother launch and lower speed acceleration. With Intelligent Traction Management, you can switch to drive modes for improved driving in snow, steep grades, sand, or mud.

It has a 3.5L V6 engine that produces 280 horsepower at 6,000 rpm. Chose between front wheel drive or All Wheel Drive.

Modern Technology

The Pilot offers innovative technology that makes driving safer, easier and more convenient than ever. The Pilot offers Apple CarPlay and Android Auto at EX trims and above.

These systems allow you to access your map, podcasts, songs and top apps from your phone. You can send a phone call or text message with your voice, and you’ll even have text messages read over the speakers.

As you climb the trims, you can add features like navigation, wireless phone charging, and a family-friendly rear entertainment system. Its expanded capability over last year's model includes integration with the onboard 4G LTE data network (Touring and Elite) or a paired smartphone (data charges apply), allowing functionality similar to that of a Smart TV with select content channels.

CabinTalk™ is included on Pilot EX-L models with navigation and rear-seat entertainment, Touring and Elite trims. Using the Hands-Free microphone, it allows those in the front row to easily communicate to those in the second and third rows using the rear speakers, wireless headphones, or both. CabinTalk™ is activated using the Display Audio touchscreen. When the CabinTalk™ app is in use, Blu-ray™ video appearing on the Rear Entertainment System is automatically paused and audio is muted (non Blu-ray content can be muted only). Audio and video automatically resumes when the app is closed.
